What is idle? without purpose or effect; pointless! What about an Idle word? Definitions of idle talk. idle or foolish and irrelevant talk. We are told in Scripture, " let no corrupt words proceed out of your mouth, but that which is necessary for edification, that it may impart grace to the hearers " - Eph. 4:29! And that " death and life are in the power of the tongue, and those who love it will eat the fruit thereof " - Prov. 18:21.
According to Matthew 12:36, it says But I say unto you, That every idle word that men shall speak, they shall give account thereof in the day of judgment. So I ask, why are we so comfortable using profanity and speaking ill against each other? When our words should be there to correct in love not harshly.. uplifting, encouraging and inspiring people to run to Christ so that they can learn how to walk in righteousness and LOVE!! That tongue is a pesky little member of our temple that may cause us and others unnecessary suffering.. Repent and let's try to bridle the tongue ❤️
